R&D is focused on the combination of different FORMATS, WEIGHTS, MATERIALS and TECHNOLOGIES that make each Adidas racket an ideal tool for each type of player.

POWER

Ability to retain the player’s energy in high-speed or intense strokes. High-power rackets are ideal for skilled players looking to maximize energy in each shot.

COMFORT

Ability to propel the ball in low-intensity strokes or with minimal player effort. High-comfort rackets suit players of all levels seeking a pleasant feel with each shot.

HANDLING

The racket’s ease of maneuverability during play. High-manoeuvrability rackets require less effort and are ideal for players seeking speed and agility.

FORMATS

The shape of a racket isn’t random or decorative—it serves a purpose. It directly impacts performance in aspects like attack, defense, power, maneuverability, and comfort. That’s why at adidas, we design rackets in various shapes, ensuring every player finds the perfect match for their playing style.

ROUND

The round format concentrates more weight near the grip, offering players enhanced control and maneuverability. This design is ideal for defensive shots, where agility and quick reactions are crucial.

ALLROUND

The hybrid format, blending diamond and round shapes, optimizes racket performance for both attacking and defensive shots. It’s ideal for players still defining their style, offering reliable performance across all shot types.

DIAMOND

High-balance format benefits offensive shots. With more weight positioned at the top of the racket, inertia increases, providing amplifed power in attacking shots.

DIAMOND OVERSIZE

High-balance design that boosts offensive performance. With extra weight concentrated at the top of the racket, it generates greater inertia, delivering enhanced power and precision in attacking shots. The larger hitting surface makes these rackets less demanding and more suitable for a greater number ofplayers.

PADEL FIBRES

Adidas padel rackets work with 7 fibres. Each fiber has a different flexibility and this enhances and adjusts the power and comfort of the rackets.

Less flexible fibers provide more power, especially during high-speed, aggressive shots, by allowing the ball to return faster.

In contrast, more flexible fibers offer better control and comfort by enabling the racket's rubber core to perform more work and achieve a higher rebound during low-speed, stationary shots.

FIBERGLASS

Soft touch, increased comfort, and great ball exit.

Key feature is elasticity. In slow or baseline shots, it offers greater ball exit and a spring effect compared to carbon fiber, while also providing softer touches for players seeking enhanced comfort.

CARBON

Power and rigidity, along with exceptional durability.

It offers greater power in quick shots like smashes and better control due to its stiffness, which minimises force absorption and eliminates the spring effect. However, its lower flexibility results in reduced ball exit in slow shots.

CARBON ALUMINIZED

High rigidity and durability taken to the maximum power.

Incorporating aluminum into carbon fiber creates a harder touch, ideal for powerful players who prefer a solid feel to fully harness their strength.

PADEL RUBBERS

The rubber is the heart of the racket, playing a crucial role in its performance. Its density defines its memory, or ability to return to its original shape.

  • Higher density provides more power, while lower density offers greater comfort.
  • In aggressive, high-speed shots, higher memory enables quicker recovery and faster ball speed.
  • For static or low-speed shots, lower density allows for more efficient ball push and greater momentum.

At adidas, we use three types of EVA rubber, each enhancing the performance of our rackets.

SOFT PERFORMANCE

Low-density EVA rubber offers excellent ball output and comfort.

Rackets with this rubber are identified by a BLACK CAP

SOFT ENERGY

Intermediate-density EVA rubber delivers exceptional ball output without sacrificing power.

Rackets with this rubber are identified by a BLUE CAP.

HIGH MEMORY

High-density EVA rubber boosts power in high-speed shots and is ideal for advanced players.

Rackets with this rubber are identified by a RED CAP

POWER TECHNOLOGY

The power technologies serves to optimize the energy of the player. The determining factor when we refer to power is the structural rigidity that prevents the dissipation of the energy applied by the player in every shot.

EXOSKELETON

100% carbon fibers inserted in the frame and core structure to increase the power and structural rigidity of the racket.

eXoskeleton characteriSes the ESSNOVA rackets.

DUAL EXOSKELETON

Double height nerves that reinforce the core and the frame allowing the player to exert energy in each shot.

It is the technology that characteriSes the ADIPOWER rackets.

OCTOGONAL STRUCTURE

Exclusive octagonal design of the carbon tube. The 8 edges stiffen the structure making the METALBONE racket ideal for the most aggressive players.

POWER EMBOSSED

The outer carbon nerve on the frame provides greater stiffness to the structure. Designed for the most aggressive rackets to achieve greater power in the shot.

STRUCTURAL POWER

Double fiber insertion in the heart of the blade provides greater structural stiffness increasing the power in the game.

It is the main technology of RX200 Light.

STRUCTURAL POWER

Mould designed with a fibre insert in the centre of the heart of the racket that provides greater structural stiffness, increasing the power in the game to the RX300 racket.

EFFECTS TECHNOLOGY

SPIN BLADE

3D relief to increase the spin in the shot. It provides an improvement in the spins of the most demanding shots. There are 3 types:

  • MOULD: ADIPOWER 3.1 blades.
  • OCTOGONAL: METALBONE 3.1 blades.
  • GRITT: GREENPADELLITE and ESSNOVA rackets.
SMART HOLES CURVE

The arrangement of the holes is specially designed to facilitate the effect of all your shots.

SMART LINEAL HOLES

Durability technologies are designed to reinforce the points where the racket experiences the greatest impact.

The arrangement of the equidistant holes in groups of 3 strengthens the surface and improves the durability of the racket.

STRUCTURAL REINFORCEMENT

Perimeter reinforcements around the whole racket to generate greater resistance to the high torsions that the racket is exposed to.

CUSTOMISABLE

Technology is designed to allow the weight and balance of the racket to be modified by external elements. The player can choose how to adapt his METALBONE to the needs of the match.

A system of six screws of different weights that allow you to vary the weight and balance of the racket depending on the demands of your next match.

WEIGHT + BALANCE SYSTEM

The 6 weights add up to a total of 12 grams.

If you leave the weights on, the balance of our METALBONE will be in the middle-low part of the racket. This will mainly give us more CONTROL.

If you remove the weights, we will be able to reduce the weight and raise the balance up to 1.5cm. This way, we will get more inertia in the attacking shots and therefore more POWER.
